Snagajob

Learning The Ropes

Overview

Snagajob is where I got my start in user experience design; initially as an intern, eventually graduating to a full time designer handling multiple teams and projects. I worked on a number of products during my time at Snagajob: Shifts as an embedded designer, Campaign Management as an intern, PeopleMatter and Community for visual design initiatives. Along the way I met some excellent mentors and discovered Marty Cagan style product design.

Shifts

I joined the Shifts team when I was hired on full time. The easiest way to describe Shifts is to think of it as Uber, for hourly work. The team hadn't had a designer for about a year and was also down a product manager. Between myself and a seriously awesome dev team, we launched an employer self-sign up experience, integrated with a SSO provider, created (and integrated) a remote i9 verification process, and started testing an expansion to the shifts worker network. I had to learn how to manage stakeholders, run scrappy user testing, and juggle multiple parallel initiatives. I'd love to share a deep dive on my work with the shifts team, message me and I'll share a link!

Some visual design work

I gave multiple products visual design facelifts while at Snagajob and even got to play with some animation. Below are some examples in order: Community, PeopleMatter redesign, and a high five animation I wrote the code for!
